About Us
“Quality is at an all-time low while prices remain higher than ever. I can’t be the only one who’s sick of banks happily giving out 30-year loans on cardboard houses that they know will only last 20 years. I value permanence, rigidity and craftsmanship… 3 things you won’t find in a vast majority of new construction homes. It’s time to ditch your cookie-cutter for a MicroBox.”

Are container homes legal where you live?
Submit this form and we’ll ask your local permitting authority about the legality of container homes in your area.
The MicroBox Difference
We avoid using contractors wherever legally possible
Other companies use subcontractors for every step of the build. They show up, slap your home together, collect their check and leave. Every MicroBox home is built by employees who take pride and ownership in their work.
Quality and safety from design to delivery
Unfortunately, construction of shipping container homes is lightly regulated in much of the United States. This has led to a number of companies cutting corners and creating unsafe living spaces for their customers. MicroBox works with a licensed civil engineering firm to ensure that the designs and materials used are safe.
Not everything is possible
Lots of other companies will tell you that anything is possible when that is just not the case. We are aware of our own as well as the material limitations involved with container home construction. We will never take your money just to experiment with it, you will get exactly what you pay for.
Last but not least... craftsmanship
We are not a factory. Our goal is not to scale to 1,000 units a year. Our goal is quality. While scaling is great for revenue, quality tends to suffer in most cases. MicroBox strives to be a low-volume, high-quality manufacturer of container homes.
